Limited Guarantee & Merchandise Return Policy

All of us at Heyden’s Gardens and Nehm’s Greenhouses value your business. This limited guarantee and merchandise return policy is intended to be a guide for our customers and employees. However, should you feel dissatisfied with a purchase that may fall outside of this policy, please share your comments with the manager and give us the opportunity to exceed your expectations.
A. Plant Material
1) Warranty
Any tree, shrub, evergreen, or woody vine purchased from Heyden’s Gardens or Nehm’s Greenhouses is warrantied for one year from the date of purchase, and will be replaced once within the warranty period, should it die. This warranty does not cover or include any herbaceous perennials, annual flowers, bulbs, rhododendron spp., Japanese maples, Buddleia spp., holly, roses, houseplants, or any plants planted in above-ground containers.
2) Plant Returns
Purchased containerized, hardy plants may be returned within (3) three days provided the following criteria are met:
- Plants are returned in their original condition, as determined by a member of the Heyden’s Gardens or Nehm’s Greenhouses sales staff, and are undamaged by drought stress, overwatering, mechanical damage, or any other means.
- Returns are accompanied by both the original itemized receipt and any original tags attached to the plant(s) or in the container’s soil.
- Plant(s) must not have been removed from their original container.
- Balled and burlapped plants are not returnable.
- In the event a return is authorized, the refund will be given based on the original method of payment. If a check was written, the refund will be reissued as store credit on a gift card.
3) Expectations
Limited Guarantee is null and void if the plant(s) are injured or killed by insects, rodents, mechanical damage, chemicals, vandalism, neglect, buck rub, or natural disaster.
B. Other Merchandise
1) Non-seasonal merchandise returned in good order within (30) thirty days of the purchase date along with the original receipt will be issued a refund to the original method of payment. If a check was written, the refund will be reissued as store credit on a gift card. Merchandise returned without a receipt will be issued a store credit at the lowest selling price of the item. There are no refunds or exchanges permitted on clearance items.
2) Seasonal/Holiday merchandise returned in good order within (30) thirty days of the purchase date and before the holiday along with the original receipt will be issued a refund to the original method of payment. If a check was written, the refund will be reissued as store credit on a gift card. There are no refunds or exchanges permitted on seasonal/holiday merchandise after the reflected holiday. No returns/refunds on Christmas trees, wreaths, or green arrangements are
permitted.
3) Garden/landscape chemicals cannot be returned for credit or exchange if opened.
C. Special Orders Policy
We do not accept special order returns on any special order products. Special order items will be charged in full at the time of order. All special order items will be processed in the most efficient and timely manner possible. Heyden’s Gardens and Nehm’s Greenhouses are not responsible for any and will not be held responsible for delays beyond our control. The approximate time of arrival is just that – APPROXIMATE. No cancellations, refunds, exchanges, or credits will be honored for any special order or custom-built items. Heyden’s Gardens and Nehm’s Greenhouses will not be held responsible for specific ship-to or receiving dates of your special order. Refusal of a special order shipment does not constitute the right to a refund of any kind whatsoever.
